Data, information and analysis on the air, land, naval and joint defence platforms, weapons and systems in service and under development around the world. Its content underpins market-leading products such as Jane’s All the World’s Aircraft. Access to Data Analytics is also available, including specifications analysis. Register via the site for an individual account in order to save searches and request RFID feeds.

SAE Mobilus

Access over 44,000 technical papers from the SAE, from 1998 onwards. Previously called SAE Digital Library.

AERADE

Free, internet-based collection of over 4000 quality assessed resources worldwide. The resources are selected, evaluated, regularly monitored and last updated by subject specialists from Cranfield University. Each resource is described so that you can assess its potential value to you before you visit it.

DTIC Online

Unclassified reports added to the Defense Technical Information Centre. Previously known as STINET.

NTIS

Abstracts of US government-funded scientific, technical, engineering and business related information. Hosted by the United States Department of Commerce.

Scopus

A large multidisciplinary abstract and indexing database that provides access to over 20,000 peer-reviewed titles, including 2,800 gold open access journals, from more than 5,000 international publishers. Scopus indexes more than 50,000 books, 6.5 million conference papers and 24 million patents from five patent offices.

Society of British Aerospace Companies

Website of the UK's national trade association for companies involved in civil and military aerospace. The website has information on technical and industrial issues, technical standards and sustainable aviation. Access to some parts of the website may require free registration.

The AOF provides a structured source of information, policy, guidance and instruction on procurement for the UK MOD and Industry partners. This tool governs and controls the way the UK MoD conducts acquisition processes and has replaced the Acquisition Management System (AMS).

DOAJ Directory of Open Access Journals

A directory of quality controlled open access journals in all scholarly and scientific subject areas. Contains over 2500 titles. These journals do not impose an embargo period but some may require free online registration.

RUSI - Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies

RUSI was founded in 1831 to study naval and military science and continues to research developments in military doctrine, defence management and defence procurement, all issues of defence and security, including terrorism and man-made and natural disasters. The following RUSI publications: Whitehall Papers, RUSI Newsbrief are available in print from the Barrington Library and RUSI Journal and RUSI Defence Systems are also available in electronic format in the Digital Library.

UK Defence Standardization

The DStan organisation develops and communicates UK MOD standardization policies, defence standards, procedures and guidance on standardization issues. Copies of electronic and hard copy versions of all extant UK Defence Standards are available from DStan. *Some may be charged for. If Barrington Library members require a defence standard which is not free, please contact your Barrington Library team.
